hey guys! the workshops are finally over and thanks to many who had help in transportation of many things! or coming to attend the workshops, and lastly mending our own system for the workshop!!! many many thanks! i hope juniors, you guys would have been able to pick up most of the set up requirements are like wad and etc.
Now, in the last week of Dec holiday, we have have a last holiday training before next year’s intake, and this time, be sure to remember hard (taking down notes or photos are allowed) as it’s going to be a test to you all! paper test. Those who pass will get a give from the club. =]
And next year, if there are an juniors who are interested to help at esplanade, please let me, RJ, know by end of this week (2nd week of holiday) as i’ll need to provide your names to johnny to make your passes. Dates are 16-17, and 19 Jan.
Not to forget lastly! Our BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2! It’s on the 12th Jan, and we will be doing our own sound for the finalists! and everything else except lightings. lolz. But we can still give our own suggestions or requirements that we want to the vendors!! Guys! after the holiday training, i’m sure you guys will want to prove to others that our club is the best and can do all sort of events for the sch and them. haha.
After saying so much, i think my members! the last thing you all need to do is to take responsibility in replying your committees when they look for you! I also don’t want to make them call you all to get answers, even if it’s a no. Please understand that it’s quite hard for them too yeah. We will also introduce a new way of “working” right aft BOTB2! So stay tune! =]]

Backstage Tour

hey guys who went for the tour yesterday, i hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a commercial event venue! it’s the last week of school holiday le and i really wish to see you guys coming for more events and not just learning the things and not applying it when you have the opportunities! so please!!! check FB, email, and handphone and reply to them! & lastly, putting in effort to rmb it or check the dates again! you guys are old enough to handle your commitments yeah!! so no more pang seh please! =]

Updates!

Sorry to all that I haven’t blog on anything! for SPSM members..fb is still active alritez! lolz..
Last monday we had our 1st ‘workshop’ with our teaching advicer mr geoffrey low! (dmat lecturer) on how to know what is the min. basis of a good sound system and speakers, followed by how to place things around during events, and working on unity lvl on the sound! more photos will be up later..
As for BATTLE OF THE BANDS! our deadline has been extended due to holiday time and some people are unable to come back to school due to ITP or something. But I hope you guys who reads this hurry submit your registration please!! Thank You! =]
Now lastly, events! There’re many school events we’ll be doing and helping out in school, like school’s talent time, and halloween event’s dance nite, with SPDJ’s Sweet Xcape 3!
so whoever interested in participating, or helping out! Feel free to contact us yeah! =D and to support us still!
We will confirm this backstage tour to be on 10Oct (Monday) 3pm.
Last update is…. it will be a combined tour for both the Theatre Compass Club and Stage Management Club. We will expand the number of participants to 38 now!
Theatre Compass so far has got 9 members and the Stage management side is ard 16! but we will limit and not exceed if response is over whelming.
For convenience, there will be a one way bus transport from SP to Esplanade, 2.30pm at DSD carpark. If you are making your own way there, please meet at The Concourse at Esplanade at 3.00pm sharp. Attendance will be taken for CCA points allocation. Liz(TC) and Nigel(SM) please take note of this and coordinate with your club members.
Battle of The Bands!

Hey SP Students!
Singapore Polytechnic’s Stage Management Club has opened up registration for their annual Battle of the Bands (BOTB) competition! It is a band competition open to all Singapore Polytechnic students, staff, and alumni! Interested parties may collect the registration forms from Johnny Ong (DSD), collect from DSD, or email spsm@cca.sg for the soft-copy forms.Please submit the completed forms to DSD reception area from 8.30am to 5pm on weekdays, or email the soft copy to spsm@cca.sg. Lastly, please do note that the closing dates for registration is September 30th 2011, and all Alumni must be from the graduating class of 2010/2011. Each band also has to have a minimum of 3 members, with a maximum cap of 6 members per band. The final audition time and date will be confirmed again.

hey guys! hope u’re getting thru with the exams.. or some, already enjoying! haha.
anw..i’m here to update on our sept line-ups? there will be a training and clearing of stage on the 6th! compulsory! this is on fb already..those with vaild reasons like ITP other committments outside alrdy etc. missing it is okay..but u’ll know it urself if u’ve missed out on learning or getting familiar with our things. haha. so i encourage all to come okay!!!!
esplaneade? tour is on in sept. however our big boss johnny haven’t give me the date yet. sorry guys for this delay!!!
training back on in the 1st week of holiday(on sp’s calendar), this will be the 6th sept, then follow by the next fri (*tbc). then a lighting session around end sept. and 11-12 oct we will have training ‘camp’ along wif sp jazz band, as by now, those regular for trainings de shld know it’s hard to jus train without a real situation, so dun miss this!! =] lastly, any other events when we are engauged?..
so this is the holiday program?.. pardon me on my language! =p

hmm..i’m actually thinking of some test for various segments.. for those who gets to see this! u’re lucky! haha..bcos you can prepare 1st..through askin, talking to us or even read up etc. =p
now..very sry again..the esplanade tour will have to delay due to the pack schedule that side is having. will let your noe again when it is..=]

updates for 2011/2012 sem1

haha..i don’t noe wad title to put.
anyway! we’re almost ending the sem soon..i hope aft 2 trainings + some who were ard frm camp would have more or less noe how to operate out system, setting up anything, for shows! there will be more practice for u guys in terms of running events at stage, and outside! for now, i believe it’s the 1st event that some had run for aft joining us! do check ur mails n all for a lot more! n soon! u can be lyk me “super (wo)man” like..ahahaha..joking.
but it’s nv a disadvantage knowing more on how to do some things.. especially when people appreciates it! haha..so for those who reali r still interested, any haven’t been joining in much due to various reasons.. come to us..or me..to see how we can help each other in it n stuff! =]]
Lastly..we’ll be having the 2nd biggest event, the NDOC..so do reply and try to come see see for it yourself!. take care n all the best for exam!!!
